Accessible Therapeutic Care – Pt 1: Client Care (Vancouver)
May 31 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
$225**Open to all healthcare professionals**
Whilst healthcare professionals receive an education that covers a vast number of conditions and pathologies, there is often a deficit of information regarding how to communicate, and care for, people with disabilities from those with lived experience.
Disability advocate, accessibility consultant and RMT Danielle Main, who is also blind, guides participants through two one-day seminars (Part 1: Client Care and Part 2: Clinical Environment Date TBC) to broaden therapist skillset and knowledge for inclusive patient care and an accessible clinical space. With these skills therapists will have the ability to ensure that people with disabilities have access to care and receive the treatment unimpeded by their disability.
